Wedderburn is an exceptional large self-catering venue for birthdays, anniversaries, house parties and re-unions.
The castle is perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing.
The castle seamlessly combines Georgian charm with modern comforts, allowing you and your friends and family to escape from everyday life into a magical world. Relax and party in the elegant reception rooms with stunning views, enjoy Highland Games, clay shooting, falconry and other actives in the grounds. Indoors you can enjoy a whisky tasting, casino night, bagpipe lesson or ceilidh.
Wedderburn Castle accommodates up to 26 guests in magnificent bedrooms, while luxury cottages in the grounds host an extra 16.
The downstairs area includes an atmospheric breakfast kitchen and a modern self-catering kitchen, both equipped for up to 26 guests.
Types of Occasion
Wedderburn is an exceptional venue for anniversaries, birthdays, house parties, re-unions and all kinds of events and celebrations.
Dinner for up to 80 guests can be served in the dining room at the castle or dinners for up to 150 can be held at the barns.
At the castle banquet furniture is included with castle rental.
All reception rooms at Wedderburn will be available for your guests to enjoy throughout their visit, whether relaxing with drinks or catching up over coffee.
Food and Dining

Our approved caterers provide a personal and innovative approach to wedding catering.
All are renowned for their delicious food and excellent service.
Your caterer will also look after your drinks throughout the event, offering the option of bringing your own wine and champagne or having a cash bar.

Every room is different and all have kept their original period features and fabulous views over the castle grounds and the rolling farms and woodland of Berwickshire.

Option 1: Bronte
- Resident housekeeping service for all reception areas.
- 12 bathrooms with luxury bath towels provided.
- Personal welcome and representative to show guests to their rooms.
- Fully equipped commercial kitchen in the castle for use by the caterer chosen from our panel.
- Fully equipped domestic kitchen.
- Castle banquet tables, chairs and chair covers provided for your caterer as required.
- Chiavari lime wash chairs (up to 80 plus chairs for musicians) for your ceremony in the Ballroom.
- Carpet aisle runner for the Ballroom, Register signing table, lectern and pedestals for floristry if required.
- Cake stand and cake knife, plus display table.
- Easel and pin board to display your table plan.
- Self-service tea & coffee for resident guests in the breakfast room at all times.
- 24hr central heating and hot water.
- Basket of logs for the drawing room fire and breakfast room stove.
- On-site planning meeting (up to 2 hours) and unlimited telephone and email party planning support.
- Comprehensive information on local accommodation for your reception guests, and our recommended outside suppliers list including celebrants, floristry, hair and make-up, photography etc.
Option 2: Austen
All elements of the Bronte option, plus:
- Early check-in for the bridal party (10.30am instead of midday for one-day party).
- Kitchen stocked with Continental breakfast provisions for your resident guests.
- Housekeeping service for all bedrooms.
- Luxury bathrobes and Scottish Fine Soaps toiletries in all bedrooms.
- Basket of logs for the Dining room and Ballroom.
- Use of croquet set and outdoor games equipment.
- Second on-site planning meeting (up to 2 hours).
Option 3: Wharton
All elements of the Bronte and Austen options, plus:
- Portering service for luggage on arrival and departure.
- Fresh towels supplied as required.
- Bottled water provided in all bedrooms.
- Fresh fruit bowl and fresh flowers in all bedrooms.
- Turn-down service for all castle bedrooms.
- Barn party bookings blocked during your stay.
- Third on-site planning meeting (up to 2 hours).
